What does the safe-buying process look like?

Tell us what you want to protect. We size the safe to your contents and install location. We quote you (safe + delivery + bolt-down install + tax). Most home and gun safes deliver within 7 to 14 business days. TL-rated commercial safes are typically 3 to 6 weeks. We bring the truck, the dollies, the J-bar and the drill bits. We anchor it down, set your combination, and walk you through use before we leave.

Is delivery and installation included?

Included on most home and gun safes. Larger commercial and TL-rated safes are quoted with delivery and install line-itemed because the job size varies (slab condition, floor load, second-story access, anchor specification).

How do I know which safe I need?

Start with what you want to put in it, then double the volume. Most customers underbuy capacity by half. Call us with a list of contents and your install location and we will size and quote in one call. We will not over-sell you on rating: a $4,000 TL-15 is the wrong answer for protecting passports from a house fire.

Do you service safes from other brands?

Yes. We service AMSEC, Liberty, Browning, Cannon, Mesa, Sentry, First Alert, Hollon, Stack-On, Hayman, plus older Mosler, Diebold, Hamilton and ISM commercial safes. Combination changes, lock conversions, hinge service, electronic lock replacement, and emergency openings.

Can you open a safe I am locked out of?

Yes. Manipulation, scoping, drilling, and bolt-work bypass for residential, commercial, gun, depository, floor and wall safes. We always try the least invasive method first and repair the safe afterward whenever the original construction allows. More on safe opening here.

Can you move a safe I already own to a new location?

What is the difference between a B-rate safe and a TL-rated safe?

B-rate is a build standard: 1/4 inch steel door, 1/2 inch steel body, key or combination lock. It deters opportunistic burglars. TL-15 is a UL test rating: a UL technician with full common hand and electric tools cannot defeat the safe in 15 minutes of net working time on the door. TL-30 is the same test for 30 minutes. TL-30×6 means rated on all six sides. TL-rated safes are required by many commercial insurance policies for inventory at risk.

What insurance carriers require a TL-rated safe?

Jewelers Mutual, Hanover Jewelers Block, Hartford, and most jewelers’ specialty carriers require UL TL-15 or higher for inventories above set thresholds (commonly $50,000 to $250,000 depending on policy). Cannabis dispensary policies in Arizona often require TL-30 with a depository function. Bring us your carrier’s spec sheet and we will quote a UL-listed safe that satisfies the policy.
