WS Series — Standard Wall Safe
Standard residential wall safe. Steel body, recessed door, key or combination lock. Sized to fit between standard 16″ studs. Various depths for 2×4 or 2×6 framing. Right for: most residential installs.
WEST Series — High-Security Wall Safe
Heavier construction, thicker plate steel, electronic lock with multiple user codes, internal lighting. Better for higher-value contents than WS. Right for: executive home offices, master closet installs where the customer wants more than entry-level.
How to Pick the Right One
- Be honest about what a wall safe protects. It’s a great concealment device but not a great burglary safe (anchored to wood studs, drywall around it). Best for daily-use items, not primary high-value storage.
- Pick the install location: behind a painting in master bedroom or office, inside a master closet behind clothes, behind a hinged mirror in bathroom, behind a piece of furniture. NOT in exterior walls. NOT behind a TV.
- Decide on lock: WS standard (key or simple combination), WEST high-security (electronic with multi-user codes).
- Decide on concealment: hinged painting, French cleat for fast access, sliding bookcase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will installing a wall safe damage my wall?
No. Clean rectangular cutout, safe mounted, drywall finished. Wall is structurally and visually intact. We touch up paint to match.
Can I install a wall safe myself?
You can. We don’t recommend it. Risks: cutting through electrical/plumbing/low-voltage wiring; not engaging both flanking studs (safe pulls out in 90 seconds); botching the drywall cut. Our wall safe install is typically $150-$400 and includes drywall finish.
Is a wall safe fireproof?
Most are not. Construction prioritizes depth and weight constraints. They’re concealment devices, not fire safes. For fire protection on documents see our fireproof safes.
What about exterior walls?
We default to interior walls. Exterior walls disturb the insulation envelope and can create thermal weak spots.
How fast can I open it during a home invasion?
Realistically a wall safe gives you fast access to a daily-carry item (cash, watch, defensive sidearm) within seconds. For longer arms or larger contents the wall safe is the wrong tool — that’s a quick-access bedside vault.
