Description
AMSEC Jewelry Safes for Retail and Residential Use
Jewelry safes are a specific job. They protect high-value, low-volume contents. They almost always have an insurance carrier requirement attached. They have to look professional in a retail showroom or fit unobtrusively in a master closet. North Valley Locksmith is an authorized AMSEC dealer and we sell, deliver, install, anchor and service the AMVAULT jewelry safe lineup across the Phoenix metro.
What’s Included
- Your selected AMSEC AMVAULT jewelry safe (CE TL-15 or CF TL-30 series)

- Delivery and bolt-down installation per UL anchor specs
- Internal jewelry tray and locker setup per your loadout (rings, watches, bracelets, loose stones)
- Combination set, dual-control programming if specified, alarm contact installation if requested
- Insurance documentation: written record of make, model, UL rating, and anchor specs for your carrier file
- Manufacturer warranty registration
Insurance and Jewelry Safes
If you carry inventory insurance through Jewelers Mutual, Hanover Jewelers Block, Hartford, or one of the major jewelers’ insurance specialists, your policy probably has a UL safe requirement written into the underwriting. Standard tiers:
- Inventory under $50,000: usually B-rate or TL-15 minimum
- Inventory $50,000 to $250,000: typically TL-15 to TL-30 required
- Inventory above $250,000: TL-30×6 or TRTL-30×6 required, often with alarm-contact and signaling specifications
- Loose diamonds and high-value watches: often have a separate “money” line on the policy with their own safe requirement
Bring us your carrier’s specifications and we will quote a UL-listed AMVAULT that satisfies the policy and document the install for your file.
The AMSEC AMVAULT Jewelry Safe Series
AMVAULT CE Series — UL TL-15
UL Listed TL-15. Heavy plate steel, concrete-amalgam barrier, hardplate over the lock, chrome relockers. Internal jewelry tray and locker configurations available. Sizes from compact countertop to floor-mount.
Right for: Mid-tier retail jewelers, watch collectors with serious holdings, high-net-worth residential where insurance specifies TL-15.
AMVAULT CF Series — UL TL-30 / TL-30×6
UL Listed TL-30 (door rated) or TL-30×6 (all six sides rated). The standard for full-line jewelry retail. Multiple internal locker configurations, optional internal lighting, optional alarm contact.
Right for: Full-line jewelry retail, bullion and precious metals dealers, high-end watch retailers, ultra-high-net-worth residential storage.
BLR Series — UL TRTL-30×6
UL Listed TRTL-30×6: torch and tool resistant, all six sides. Top tier outside of bank vault doors. Used in ultra-high-value retail and bullion vaults.
Right for: Bullion dealers, ultra-high-end watch and jewelry retailers, vault operators.
Internal Configurations: Trays, Lockers and Lighting
Jewelry doesn’t store the way cash or documents do. AMSEC offers internal configurations for the AMVAULT series:
- Velvet jewelry trays. Stackable, lined, sized for ring rolls, chain pads, watch foam.
- Internal lockers. Each with its own combination or key. Used for separating customer property (repairs, layaway, owner’s personal property) from store inventory.
- Internal lighting. LED interior on door-open, useful for retail back-room access.
- Alarm contacts. Door-position switch wired to the building alarm. Many insurance policies require this.
Residential vs Retail Install
For retail jewelers, the safe usually installs in a back-room or vault-room behind the showroom, anchored to a slab, with alarm contact run to the building security panel. Plan for delivery during off-hours and install over a closed-store window.
For residential, install location is usually a master closet, walk-in vault room, or a basement vault. Anchor to slab where possible; if a wood subfloor is the only option, we engineer a reinforced anchor plate.
Delivery and Installation
AMVAULT CE units deliver in 2-3 weeks and weigh 800-1,800 lbs. CF units are typically build-to-order and run 4-8 weeks, weighing 1,500-3,500 lbs. Install is a 2-4 hour job. We anchor per UL specs, document for insurance, install internal trays and lockers, and walk through use.
Service After the Sale
Combination changes (especially after staff turnover), lock conversions, alarm contact service, and emergency openings. See our safe opening service.
Pricing
AMVAULT CE TL-15 jewelry safes start around $4,000. AMVAULT CF TL-30 safes start around $7,000. TL-30×6 and BLR TRTL-30×6 run $12,000 to $25,000+. Request a quote with your install address, required UL rating, and inventory value.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between a jewelry safe and a regular burglary safe?
Mechanically, they’re often the same UL-listed body and door. The “jewelry” version has internal velvet trays, lockers, and sometimes interior lighting configured for jewelry storage. Both ratings are UL TL-listed; the difference is internal fit-out.
Do I need a TL-30×6 or will TL-30 suffice?
It depends on what your insurance carrier specifies. Many jewelers’ carriers require TL-30×6 (all-side rating) for inventories over $100,000 because a determined thief will attack a side, top or back rather than the door once they realize the door is hardened. If your carrier specifies x6, do not save money on a door-only TL-30; the policy will deny the claim.
How do I keep customer property separate from store inventory?
Internal lockers. Each locker has its own lock and combination/key. Standard practice: store inventory in the main safe body, customer property and repairs in dedicated internal lockers, owner’s personal property in a separate locker. Limits employee access and protects you on customer property claims.
Can you alarm-contact the safe?
Yes. We install a door-position switch wired to your building security panel, which can be programmed to trigger on after-hours opens or to log every open/close event. Often required by insurance for full-line retail.
