The Three AMSEC Home Safe Series We Sell
BFII Series — Fire and Burglary
The flagship AMSEC home safe. UL Residential Security Container (RSC) burglary rating plus a 2-hour fire rating tested to 1700°F. The body is a continuous wrap of high-strength steel; the door is solid steel with concrete-amalgam fill for fire resistance. Standard with a UL Type 1 mechanical or electronic lock and chrome-plated relockers. Sizes from compact 24″ tall up to full-height 60″ tall.
Right for: Most homeowners. The BFII is the right answer to “I want one safe that protects everything from a burglar and from a house fire.”
CSC Series — Compact Burglary and Fire
Smaller footprint, same construction philosophy as the BFII. UL RSC burglary rating, 1-hour fire rating. Drops into a master closet, a pantry corner, or under a bed frame.
Right for: Renters, condo owners, and anyone with a tight install footprint. Also a good “second safe” for a vacation home.
HS Series — High-Security Burglary
Heavier construction with thicker plate steel. Less fire rating, more burglary protection. Used where fire risk is low and contents value is high (think: a basement gun room with a sprinkler system, or a home office with sensitive client property).
Right for: Homeowners who already have a fireproof document safe and want a second safe purpose-built for burglary deterrence.
How to Pick the Right Size
- List the contents. Cash, jewelry boxes, document binders, firearms, optics, ammo cans, hard drives, prescription drugs, family heirlooms.
- Measure the install location. Closet floor space, doorway clearance, stair turn radius, ceiling height. We need to be able to get it from the truck to its final spot.
- Double your contents estimate. Almost every customer underbuys capacity. Plan for what you will own in 5 years, not what you own today.
- Pick the rating. If house fire is a real concern, BFII or CSC. If burglary is the only concern, HS.

Delivery and Installation
Most BFII and CSC home safes deliver within 7 to 10 business days of order. We schedule a 2-hour install window, bring the safe up to the install location on a power dolly, anchor it to the slab or subfloor with concrete anchors or lag bolts, set your combination, and walk you through use before we leave. Stairways, second-story installs, and tight turns are not a problem. We’ve done it.
Service After the Sale
Every AMSEC home safe we sell is backed by our local service. If the electronic lock battery dies, if you forget the combination, if the bolt work needs adjustment, if you want to convert from electronic to mechanical or vice versa, we are 20 minutes away. Frequently Asked Questions
Is an AMSEC BFII fireproof?
The BFII is fire-rated to 2 hours at 1700°F external (UL Class 350 1-hour standard, factory-tested 2-hour). Internal temperature stays under 350°F, the threshold above which paper begins to char and digital media fails. So: fire-resistant for the duration of a typical residential fire, yes.
Mechanical or electronic lock?
Mechanical (dial) locks last decades, never need batteries, and are slower to open. Electronic (keypad) locks are fast, allow multiple users with separate codes, and need a 9V battery once a year. Both are UL Type 1 rated when factory-installed on AMSEC. We can convert in either direction after the sale.
Should I bolt the safe down?
Yes. An unbolted home safe under 750 lbs can be carried out by two motivated thieves with a hand truck. Bolting takes 10 minutes and is included with our delivery.
Where should I install it?
Master closet, garage corner near a load-bearing wall, basement, or a discreet first-floor closet. Avoid: kitchens (humidity), exterior garage walls (heat), and anywhere visible from a window.
